How to Use Your ClearTelecomUS Prepaid Calling Card: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide
Learning how to use a calling card is simple — and your ClearTelecomUS prepaid calling card makes it cheaper than almost any other way to place domestic and international calls. Your card works from any phone: a landline, a cell phone, a payphone, or any internet-connected device. There is no app to install and no hardware to configure. This step-by-step calling card guide walks you through everything, from your first call to managing your balance.
Step 1: Locate Your Account Details
After your order is processed, we email you your account details, including your account PIN number. This PIN is what identifies your account when you call in, so keep it private and handy.
Eligible orders are handled by our 24/7 automatic order processing system, so your account details can arrive after hours, on weekends, and on holidays. Orders that require additional verification may be placed on hold for manual review.
Step 2: Dial One of Our Toll-Free Access Numbers
Call any one of the access numbers below. These numbers are toll-free — using them costs you nothing, with no fees or surcharges:
- (1) 888-582-6840
- (1) 855-324-3901
- (1) 800-611-8770
- (1) 833-622-0430
- (1) 833-622-0431
- (1) 833-960-3663
- (1) 800-260-1346
Tip: save two or three of these numbers in your phone’s contacts. If one is busy or unreachable from a particular network, you can simply try another.
Step 3: Place Your Call
Once connected, the automated system guides you through a short menu:
- At the welcome menu, select choice (1) to access the calling system.
- Choose your preferred language — press 1 for English.
- Enter your account PIN number, then press the pound/hash (#) key to confirm it.
- The system announces your current account balance.
- When prompted, enter the destination number you wish to call.
- Your call is connected. The system tracks your usage against your balance in real time.
That’s it — the whole sequence takes only a few seconds once you are familiar with it.
Dialing Formats
When the system prompts you for the destination number:
- US and Canada: enter the full number including its area code.
- International: enter the country code followed by the local number. The 011 international prefix is optional — our system accepts the number either way, whether you include 011 or leave it out.
Checking Your Balance
Dial any toll-free access number and enter your PIN. The system announces your current balance before asking for a destination number — so you can simply hang up after hearing it.
Adding More Calling Time (Top Up)
Your card is rechargeable at any time, and your balance never expires.
If you already have an account, use the Calling Time Credit Top Up product to recharge your existing balance. Please do not buy a new calling card product to top up — ordering a card product creates a brand-new account with a separate PIN.
Payment Methods We Accept
You can pay for a new calling card, a top up, or a calling plan subscription using any of the following:
- Credit and debit cards — processed securely through Stripe.
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Amazon Pay
- Zelle
- ACH US bank payment — pay directly from a US bank account.
- US bank wire transfer (USD)
- International bank wire transfer (USD)
- Check payment
- Your store Wallet balance — preload funds into your Wallet and spend them on future orders from your Wallet Dashboard.
A note on timing: card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, and Wallet payments are authorized instantly, so eligible orders can be processed automatically around the clock. Zelle, ACH, bank wire, and check payments may need to clear and be confirmed before your calling credit is applied, so allow extra time when using them.
Never Run Out: Balance Monitor & Auto Reload
Our Calling Card Balance Monitor & Auto Reload service watches your balance in real time and automatically reloads your account when it drops below a threshold you choose. You stay in control of your low-balance threshold, your reload amount, and the payment method on file — and it runs 24/7/365, including after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Changing Your PIN
If you need a new PIN — for example, if you believe it has been shared too widely — you can request a change. Your first PIN change is free; subsequent PIN changes are available as a paid service.
Rates and Billing
- Calls to US numbers are charged from $0.029 (2.9¢) per minute, with an almost 95% flat rate across area codes.
- Charges are billed in 3-minute increments.
- Actual charges vary based on your account’s calling plan and the destination you dial.
- A $20 balance gives you up to — and may exceed — 600 minutes for US 48 states and Canada.
- Calling to our toll-free access numbers is always free.
If you call regularly, our minutes calling plan subscriptions (1,000 through 3,000 minutes) can lower your effective per-minute cost.
Good to Know
- Your calling card balance has no expiration date.
- Monthly minutes packages work differently: if you subscribe to a monthly bundle of minutes, any minutes still remaining at the end of your monthly billing cycle will expire. There is no carry-over and no roll-over of unused minutes into the following month.
- Package minutes are not account balance: the minutes included in a monthly calling package are held separately from your prepaid calling card balance. They are not counted as, added to, or convertible into your account balance.
- The service does not add minutes to a cell phone plan — it is a separate calling account you reach through our access numbers.
- Works from landlines, cell phones, and payphones, with no payphone surcharge.
- Keep your PIN confidential — anyone with your PIN can spend your balance.
